When the Nordics act together, we can shape markets, set standards, and power innovation in the most critical sectors of our time.
Europe is engaged in a timely debate about competitiveness and renewal. Yet, Mario Draghi’s 2024 report underscored the need for stronger coordination and faster implementation across the continent. While European-level processes will take time, the Nordics are able to move faster and demonstrate effective implementation. By acting together, we can both strengthen our own position and contribute concrete models and solutions to European-level cooperation.
Every year, the process culminates at the Nordic Compass Summit in Gothenburg in December, where partners back the strongest initiatives and move them into execution.

Our purpose is straightforward: to move from analysis to action by providing a structured pathway to delivery. It will identify industry-backed initiatives that can scale through Nordic coordination — initially focusing on four strategic areas.
Within each track, industry partners will identify high-impact initiatives with a realistic route to execution. The initiative pipeline builds on existing efforts, accelerating progress and reducing fragmentation rather than duplicating work.

This foundation matters. As small, open democracies, our security, prosperity, and sovereignty depend on economic strength. Competitiveness is no longer only an economic issue; it is about security, sovereignty, and geopolitical influence.
